Terrific Traffic CHAOS on the roads of Bangalore

After our little road trip to Kanva Reservior, we were still left with some time before we retire for the day. So we planned to go to the “BANGALORE BOOK FESTIVAL 08”, which was organised at the palace grounds.

We agreed to take the car, which is usually not the obvious choice nor is preferable in the Bangalore traffic. After some great manoeuvres in the busy traffic we finally, FINALLY reached the destination. Loads of books from all languages, mostly consisting of English and Kannada were exhibited at the various stalls put up by publishing houses, reputed book stores, authors’ were a feast to the eye and was totally tempting to read the books then and there. But we did not have the luxury of choice, so had to pick some of the best ones’ to take home and read. After visiting almost all the stalls each one of us ended up with one or the other book of our choice and bought them all with the limited cash we had.

We headed back home, and since all were hungry again we decided to eat something on the way back home. As we came out to the road, to our amaze we see huge traffic jam which was never that BIG on the very road, even when some popular concerts were conducted!! Then we get to know that the terrific traffic jam is created due to the crowd which gathered at Palace Grounds on some issue to support Ex. CM, HD.Kumara Swamy, in the already busy roads of MAHANAGARA BENGALURU

We reached to the car and headed back home. We hustled through the traffic slowly till we reached Malleshwaram 18th cross. Aaaha, here the traffic was totally JAMMED!! No traffic police to take care of the situation. All fighting [literally and verbally] to get out of the jam ASAP. An ambulance tried to clear its way through the traffic by sounding its claxon, but in wane.

Ambulance stuck in traffic

It was total CHAOS. We somehow managed to get out of the jam due to some true BANGALORIANS @ work as traffic police, even in spite of a busy day at work. Our team being impressed by the selfless job being done by these people, joined hands with them to clear traffic. Finally, we could clear traffic jam successfully.

Bangalorians @ WORK

We felt proud to be bangalorians and at the same time SAD at the traffic conditions in Bangalore, some of them being

  1.       Lack of lane discipline.
  2.      Auto Rickshaws.
  3.        Lots of un-necessary vehicles on road [Many ride 4 wheelers even when riding alone].
  4.        Bad Roads.
  5.        Traffic MissManagement.

We got to learn a lot of things by doing this job along with good people.

  1.        Bangalorians ROCK!!
  2.        Obey, Lane rules.
  3.        Drive responsibly.
  4.        With this traffic, life critical patients have a tough time to even survive. So better don’t get critical in Bangalore. Provided the state of the art technology and some of the best Doctors, traffic plays a great role in life of a Bangalorian.[We faced 2 such incidents on the way back home ourselves]
  5.        Politics and politicians suck!! [Due to who all the chaos in the first place]

   6. Also please keep ur head laps low. Don't drive with hight beams everywhere, use it when utmost necessay ONLY!!

“Take initiative to make our neighbourhood a better place to live in, or just suffer”. Initiative taken by a few helped many to reach home by time. Some addition of hands made the job quick and easy. So please join hands to make our neighbourhood a better place to live in.

From DECCAN HERALD [19TH NOV 2008]

MAHAMUD, YOU ROCK!!

This is was what HD Devegowda, had to say

People in Bangalore cannot stand even the slightest inconvenience. What will happen if they reach home a bit late? Do they know what problems people in rural areas are facing? Can public meetings be held at home?

For EyeWash only,

I still apologise for the inconvenience. I would suggest that a place be earmarked with all facilities for conducting public rallies.

mONEY spent to creat the havoc,

Rs 4.39 crore spent on buses

The JD(S) has spent several crores of rupees to organise the convention. It has spent Rs 4.39 crore to hire KSRTC buses to ferry its workers alone.

  5. Good job by volunteers.. These politicians taking about the rural problems. Y cant they spent that much of money on some underdeveloped village to their presence in society instead of blaming bangaloreans? Who is responsible for underdeveloped in rural areas?. Its Stupidity blaming on some one when you are the roots of problem. This is what these JDS people are doing..

  6. It was a utter nonsense and every thing for political gain in the name of Rally,They cant imagine how many suffered the trauma and frustation. DG and family highlights only the problem of rural people then why don't they stay in any remote village and carry on their activity instead living a lavish life in Bangalore.

Whole of Bangalore is cursing..will they be happy ever. God bless them.

  7. I'm totally flabbergasted at this total lack of empathy for the woes endured by the public by an ex-PM & ex-CM who fashion themselves as saviors of all the land between the poles!!!! The ingenuity of their rather harebrained explanation is lost in the the sheer ridiculousness of it all. The meet was supposed to highlight the failure of the current govt. Someone needs to realise they were in fact creating more than they intended to discuss. Blowing trumpets, breaking down into croc tears..... phew!! aches the heart and mind to realise we've trusted our futures with the hypocrisy-ridden consciences of these sons of s(atan)oil.....
