A week that wasn’t....

Man has always loved nature. Nature is the one thing which can soothe a person like no one else. Hence is rightly referred to as MOTHER Nature. So to get away from hustle and bustle of the city, we decided to get out of the city for the weekend. We ve always been amazed by this one place called “Ombattu Gudde”[OG]. Reading the blogs and trek logs about OG has always intimidated us to explore the place. So we started collecting the most essential stuff needed to trek to this place,

  1.       A map, #48 p/9/nw, #48 p/9/sw [From Survey Of India, Kormangala]
  2.       GPS
  3.       A tent [WildCraft, Marthahalli]

Since anup, was busy @ work, we handed him the job of booking bus tickets online. Myself and viv [Vivekananda] headed to the Survey Of India, Kormangala, which is been wrongly marked on the google maps, which indicates to be located near Mallya Hospital. So we were misguided by the map, we called the Survey Of India to get the write address which was told to be very close by to St.John’s Hospital, Sarjapur Rd, Koramangala. I was totally tired of driving twice to the airport the previous night. After reckless driving by me, made it to the place and got the map. On the way back home we nearly missed getting caught by a POLICE MAMA, we drove in the wrong way you know!! Well wat the hell.. we finally got home wid the most essential map J

We decided to take my bro’s phone with GPS for our trek.

Another day of tiring journey on the streets of Bangalore, the day we were to leave to the trek, we got the tent from WildCraft by paying a caution deposit of Rs.3k.

By now we had got all stuff, except for bus tickets. Hoping to get buses to the place, thou not KSRTC. The team boiled down to 3 from 5.

By the time all of us got together from our jobs it was 10pm. Din get any bus from near our place. So considered an option of going to main bus station and get a bus to Hassan or Sakleshpur. But my parents protested not to go and justified that we were not well organised for the trek.  Eventually after loads of argument, the trek was CANCELLED L

Military MAN or Militant!!??

We spent the night at my place and planned to go to Bannerghatta National Park in viv’s car the following morning. Well, plans are always to change. Our friend, Chetan had to give his Car, DL test at peenya and we had to return the tent we hired which we never used. All of ur took of to peenya in chet’s car. By the time we reach the spot the registrations were closed for the day. Cursing the RTO people, chetan returned to have closed the registrations well ahead of time for the day.

Fixing the flat TIRE

We drove for a yard or so to realise that our car tire is FLAT!! Kya kismat hai yaar, looks like hamaara bad luck hi kharab hai!! Even though all these stuff happening we had great fun in fixing the tyre, initially we couldn’t find the right tools to use the jack. Anup, fell ill all of a sudden. Everyone had to go to the Book Fest. So we went to palace grounds for the book fest by now, anup was totally ill. He stayed back in the car to rest while we went to check out the book fest. Then it was too late and we headed back home. Chucked the plan to return the TENT, which wud be returned by viv the following day. A short, thought not an exhaustive, Brain storming session happened among us exchanging our entrepreneurial ideas J

All is in the well, that ends in the well.

Good we din go to the trek. Anup was totally ill. Had we gone for the trek, we wud ve had to leave the tent der and carry anup instead.
